Annual Reporting
Corporate Marketing
While employed at Addison, I was responsible for the initial work to build and drive their on-line corporate reporting offering. A change in corporate reporting legislation a few years ago (known as Schedule 7) allowed companies to default to electronic communication, and therefore potentially save a lot of money (millions in some cases!) due to the reduction in printed material.
Starting out with a long established process for producing printed corporate literature, I was able to introduce processes and methods for integrating the design and build of the on-line versions. The design process involved working closely with senior print designers, and specific corporate brand guidelines.
Often dense with financial data, the reports were created from XML export of the print files, then processed through a piece of software that generated the framework of a static HTML site. The static sites then had a previously designed style sheet applied, and were tweaked and checked for accuracy.
